Milwaukee’s Anthony Pettis to fight Alex Martinez at ‘PFL 4: 2021 Regular Season’ in New Jersey

Anthony “Showtime” Pettis, 34, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States is looking forward to bouncing back from his unsuccessful Professional Fighters League debut. He is set to fight undefeated professional mixed martial artist Alex Martinez, 26, of Canada and Paraguay.

On April 23, 2021, Pettis his made his PFL debut in the main event of “PFL 1: 2021 Regular Season” at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. He lost via unanimous decision to Clay “Cassius” Collard, 28, of Price, Utah, USA.

The loss downgraded Pettis’s professional MMA record to 24 wins and 11 losses. He is now ready to improve that as he goes back to the Ocean Casino Resort at “PFL 4: 2021 Regular Season” to fight Martinez on June 10, 2021.

Also at “PFL 1: 2021 Regular Season,” Martinez defeated Loik “Jaguar Paw” Radzhabov, 30, of Dushanbe, Tajikistan via split decision. The Paraguayan-Canadian MMA fighter now has 8 wins, 0 loss, 0 draw and 1 No Contest.

Martinez and Pettis will headline “PFL 4: 2021 Regular Season.” They will battle it out in the lightweight division.

Pettis is of Puerto Rican and Mexican descent. He formerly competed in the welterweight and featherweight divisions.

The Milwaukee native made his professional MMA debut on January 27, 2007. He competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship from June 4, 2011 to December 19, 2020.

Before the UFC and the PFL, Pettis fought in Gladiators Cage Fighting and World Extreme Cagefighter. He is a former UFC Lightweight Champion.

On the other hand, Martinez has been competing professionally since July 29, 2017. Before joining the PFL, he competed in Xcessive Force Fighting Championship, Modern Fighting Championship, BRAVE Combat Federation and iKon Fighting Federation.

Pacio has been competing in ONE Championship since 2016. He currently holds a professional MMA record of 19 wins and 3 losses.
