Paulo “Borrachinha” Costa, 30, of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil is ready to redeem himself from his first ever loss as a professional mixed martial artist. He is set to compete in the Ultimate Fighting Championship for the seventh time.
On August 21, 2021, Costa and Jared “The Killa Gorilla” Cannonier, 37, of Anchorage, Alaska, USA will headline “UFC Fight Night 195,” also known as “UFC on ESPN+ 53,” at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. They will battle it out in the middleweight division.

Cannonier is also coming out of a loss. On October 24, 2020, he lost via unanimous decision to Robert Whitaker at “UFC 254.”
The loss downgraded Cannonier’s professional MMA record to 13 wins and 5 losses. On the other hand, Costa now has 13 wins and 1 loss.

Costa made his professional MMA debut on February 25, 2012. He made his UFC debut on November 4, 2017.
The Brazilian MMA fighter knocked out his first three UFC opponents namely Oluwale “The Holy War Angel” Bamgbose, 33, of New York, USA, Johny “Bigg Rigg” Hendricks, 37, of Ada, Oklahoma and Uriah “Primetime” Hall, 36, of New York. On August 17, 2019, Yoel “Soldier of God” Romero, 44, of Miami, Florida, USA lost via unanimous decision to Costa at “UFC 241.”
On September 26, 2020, Costa was knocked out by Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya, 31, of Nigeria and New Zealand at “UFC 253.” The latter has been reigning as the UFC Middleweight Champion since October 6, 2019.
Mark Eddiva, 35, of Baguio City, Philippines competed in the UFC from 2015 to 2016. He trained out of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines.
Also fighting out of Baguio City, Mark “Mugen” Striegl, 33, is the only Filipino MMA fighter currently signed with the UFC. He is a former ONE Championship fighter.
