Edward “The Ferocious” Kelly, 37, of Baguio City, Philippines is ready for his 21st professional mixed martial arts bout. Fighting professionally since 2003, he joined the Singapore-based martial arts organization ONE Championship in 2013.
Featuring three MMA bouts, one kickboxing contest and one Muay Thai fight, ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Full Blast” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on May 28, 2021. In the second bout of the evening, Kelly will fight Ahmed “The Prince” Faress, 29, of Cairo, Egypt in an MMA match in the featherweight division.
A ONE Warrior Series alum, Faress will make his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Full Blast.” He previously competed in the Egyptian Free Fighting Championship, the Egyptian Martial Arts Association, the Arabic Ultimate Fighting Championship, Desert Force and BRAVE Combat Federation.
Faress trains out of S&B Academy in Cairo. He is 175 tall while Kelly stands 174 cm.
Kelly trains out of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines. Before joining ONE Championship, he competed in Fearless Fighting Championship, the Universal Reality Combat Championship, Brawl Bataan, Ultimate Beatdown and Malaysian Invasion MMA.
On January 26, 2018, Kelly knocked out Meas Meu, 31, of Cambodia at “ONE: Global Superheroes” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines after 21 seconds in the first round. It is one of the fastest knockouts in ONE Championship.
The Team Lakay fighter solely represents the Philippines at “ONE: Full Blast,” which marks his 16th outing in ONE Championship. Faress is also the sole representative of Egypt.
Including Egypt and the Philippines, eight countries are represented at “ONE: Full Blast.” The other countries represented are China, India, the Netherlands, Suriname, Thailand and the United States.
