Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw, 25, of Kapangan, Benguet, Philippines was one of the winners at “ONE: Battleground.” It was the first ONE Championship win of the Igorot mixed martial artist training out of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet.
Featuring one Muay Thai contest, one kickboxing bout and four MMA fights, “ONE: Battleground” took place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on July 30, 2021. In the second bout of the evening, Pacatiw fought “The Ghost” Chen Rui (陈睿), 24, of Chengdu, Sichuan, China in an MMA bout in the bantamweight division.

While Team Lakay fighters are known for their dangerous striking prowess, Pacatiw exhibited his ground game throughout the three five-minute rounds. In the first round, he attempted a rear-naked choke submission but it was not enough to force Chen to tap out.
The bantamweight contest went the distance. In the end, referee Olivier Coste raised the hand of Pacatiw, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

ONE Championship was founded on July 14, 2011. Among its rivals as the top MMA promotions in the world are the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Bellator MMA and Professional Fighters League.
